[Free Class] Handmade Happy Program: Tray decorating

Hi there! Long time no post.^^

I’ve been quite busy this past months. I’ve wanted to update this blog as much as possible but I just couldn’t.

Last weekend, my friends and I attended the Handmade Happy Program at the Dongjakgu Jawonbongsa Center. The Handmade Happy Program is a free 3-day handicraft making program for married immigrants living in Dongjakgu. The first project that we did was decorating a tray made of paper.

Less than 15 people attended last weekend.  But it was fun and interesting.

Of course, the best part if this was we got to bring home the tray that we decorated.^^

My Filipina friends. There were other participants from Vietnam, China and Cambodia but they didn’t want to join our group picture. They also didn’t want us to join their group picture. 😛 Oh well!

2 more classes to go! I’m excited for the next two projects.^^

Oh, just after I got home from the center my husband said, “They spent my taxes for this tray?” (-.-)

He always complains about his taxes… hehehe

This was taken at Hangang Park in Yeouido, Seoul last weekend. My son prefers to be with his father than me. He would always take my husband’s hand than mine if he wanted to go somewhere. ㅠ.ㅜ 

2014 다문화공감소통가 양성교육: Last Day

Few months ago, I attended the 다문화공감소통가 양성교육[da-mun-hwa-gong-gong-gam-so-tong-ga yang-song-gyo-yuk]. I honestly don’t know what 공감소통가 actually mean^^ hehe. My husband aslo can’t understand this word. He said that maybe it’s and abbreviation or a coined word. Anyway, 다문화 means multicultural, while 양성 means training, and 교육  means education.

That day, we had an introduction of mentors and mentees, a pizza party, an evaluation test, and distribution of certificates.

Introduction of mentors and mentees:

Japanese mentor. She is married to a Korean, and has been living in Seoul for more than 20 years. She speaks Korean fluently, very nice and soft spoken, and a very intelligent woman.

Filipina mentor. She has been lving in Korea for more than 4 years. She’s very outspoken and friendly.

Filipina mentee.

Me! Nothing special about this woman. 😛

Indonesian mentor. She has been my seatmate from day 1. She speaks english very well.

The Test. Oh my. I only understood 30% of this test. hahahaha. They didn’t post the result but I’m sure I failed this test.

Distribution of certificates

I didn’t get a certificate because I missed two training days(ㅠ.ㅠ) It’s because I went to the Philippines for a 10-day vacation.

It was really a great experience to be with these very nice and beautiful women.
